Yoga Teacher Training

Ann Hunt / Evolve Yoga is an affiliate of the Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. Graduates of the Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training (IYTT) program complete 200 hours of training and earn the designation of Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT®) through Yoga Alliance, a yoga education and support organization which maintains a national yoga teachers’ registry to recognize and promote teachers with training that meets its minimum standards.

200 Hour Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training

The 2012/2013 Teacher Training program will begin September 21, 2012. The foundation of this training draws from a diversity of yoga styles, stimulating personal inquiry into your own yoga practice.  In an environment of individualized, experiential learning you gain professional skillfulness to teach in a wide variety of settings.  Taught in a unique one weekend per month format over 9 months, topics covered will include Technique and Alignment of Hatha Yoga Postures, Self-Awakening Yoga – Principles and Practice, Yin Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, Bandhas, Hands-on Assists, Principles of Teaching, Anatomy and Philosophy.  As a participant in this Yoga Alliance approved 200 Hour Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training you will be qualified to continue your training with the internationally recognized Nosara Yoga Institute on their well-established professional development path.

Typical Yoga Teacher Training Weekend Schedule

  • Friday
    • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Evening Session (first weekend plus 2 additional Friday evenings, dates to be determined)
  • Saturday
    • 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM Yoga Practice
    • 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM Morning Session
    • 2:30 PM –  5:00 PM Afternoon Session
  • Sunday
    • 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM Yoga Practice
    • 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM Morning Session
    • 2:30 PM –  5:00 PM Afternoon Session

The morning and afternoon sessions will cover topics such as Technique and Alignment of Hatha Yoga Postures, Self-Awakening Yoga – Principles and Practice, Pranayama, Meditation, Bandhas, Hands on Assists, Principles of Teaching, Anatomy, Philosophy, Ethics and Professional Practices.

The cost for the training program is $2950. Special Early Registration price is $2800 for registering prior to September 1, 2012. A deposit of $950 ($800 before Sept. 1) is required to reserve your space.
