Lifeforce Yoga® to Balance Your Mood, Sunday March 11, by donation

Join us on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:30 for another wonderful LifeForce Yoga class with Karen Janowsky!

If you seek to balance your mood and experience more joy and connection, then this workshop is for you. The change from the cold, dry days of winter to the warmer, wetter heat of spring can have a profound impact on our sense of well-being. Most of us feel these changes in one way or another, whether by experiencing disturbed sleep, changes in digestion and mood, or heightened emotional symptoms such as anxiety, worry, or frustration. When we experience these symptoms, we experience it in our entire bodies: our muscles, our bones, even our vital organs and immune system. LifeForce Yoga, developed by Amy Weintraub, begins with the understanding that you are so much more than your mood, and the story of your life. Your birthright is a deep, blissful connection with all that surrounds you.

The practice of LifeForce Yoga will diminish your sense of separation, which is the literal source of anxiety and depression. The connection you feel to that which is most authentic within you and your connection to others will be enhanced. LifeForce Yoga is a practice that is highly adaptable to individual needs, so each person can move into a balanced emotional, mental, and physical state of equanimity and self-awareness.

In this workshop, you will learn and practice breathing exercises, easy postures, guided meditations, and other effective, evidence-based, mood regulating yoga practices not regularly taught in yoga class. Over time, these practices can lead to improved immune response and physical health.

Anyone can benefit from this practice, regardless of fitness level, flexibility, or prior yoga experience. Come away with the tools to release whatever blocks you from your sense of wholeness and connection. Improve your mood and welcome ease into your life.

Karen is a registered E-RYT 200 teacher through Yoga Alliance, a certified LifeForce Yoga practitioner, and a certified Silver Age Yoga for Seniors instructor. She offers private and group instruction in yoga for depression, anxiety, and stress management. In addition to her mentorship with Ann Hunt, she has studied with Amy Weintraub, Stephen Cope, Erich Schiffmann, and several other teachers. One of Karen’s most beloved mantras is “Loka samastha sukinoh bhavantu,” or, “May all beings be happy and free. May my thoughts, words, and actions somehow contribute to their happiness and freedom.” Her goal is to help guide you towards removing the obstacles that prevent you from seeing your wholeness.
